Low thermal conductivity in a lightweight core.
The opacified pyrogenic-silica blend and filament reinforcement form a rigid, handleable microporous board for use as vacuum-panel core insulation.
Rigid microporous insulation board
A low-density microporous board available as a bare core or prepared format for space-efficient insulation systems.

Product configuration and performance
SiliCore is a rigid microporous board with low density and low thermal conductivity. It can be supplied bare or with an application-matched covering.

The opacified pyrogenic-silica blend and filament reinforcement form a rigid, handleable microporous board for use as vacuum-panel core insulation.

Tailored board dimensions reduce off-cuts. Where needed, a selected covering or encapsulation can be reviewed against handling, moisture exposure and the finished panel construction.
Thermal conductivity below 1 mbar is 0.0042 W/mK for Standard and 0.0038 W/mK for Plus.
Thermal conductivity at ambient pressure is 0.020 W/mK for both Standard and Plus.
The application temperature range is -70 to +80°C. The covering, barrier film and finished assembly must be matched to the operating conditions.
Typical applications
SiliCore can be used bare or prepared for thermal systems in buildings, cold-chain equipment and appliances.
Vacuum-panel core insulation for roofs, floors and facades where usable space is limited.
Core insulation for vacuum panels used in boxes and packs carrying medicines, vaccines and other temperature-sensitive contents.
Vacuum-panel core insulation for water heaters, boilers, refrigerators, chill cabinets, cold-storage units, vending machines and heated food displays.
Core insulation for vacuum panels used to help maintain the low temperatures required for liquefied natural gas.
Vacuum-panel core insulation for cabin comfort and cold-storage areas in marine, rail, automotive and aerospace applications.
