Start with the service pipe
Define operating temperature, cycling, diameter, pipe material and the temperature objective outside the insulation system.
Preformed rigid microporous section
Preformed microporous insulation for straight pipes, elbows and defined curves.
Siltherm Pipe is a preformed microporous section for straight pipework, elbows and other defined curves. It reduces site shaping and gives consistent radial coverage.

Radial insulation build-up
The preformed section creates the thermal layer around the service pipe. Joints and external protection complete the installed construction.
Define operating temperature, cycling, diameter, pipe material and the temperature objective outside the insulation system.
Match nominal diameter, insulation build-up and curved segments to the pipe geometry for a close, repeatable fit.
Covering, joints, fixation, weather protection, access and adjacent equipment remain complete-system responsibilities.
Diameter and layer architecture
Standard sections cover nominal diameters DN13-DN300 in 500 mm lengths, with single- and double-layer configurations. Custom diameters and elbows can be discussed for the application.
DN denotes nominal pipe diameter. The sizes below are standard options; intermediate or alternative diameters should be confirmed with Siltherm.
One formed thickness around the named nominal diameter.
A layered build-up listed for duties requiring a greater nominal insulation thickness.
Thermal performance
ASTM C177 values describe the microporous core at the stated mean temperature. Diameter and insulation thickness then determine the installed heat-loss calculation.
Available surface options
Choose glass fleece, aluminium foil or glass cloth to suit the required handling and surrounding interfaces.
A lightweight surface covering for the formed microporous section.
A foil covering option for defined handling and interface requirements; seams and external protection remain part of the installation design.
A cloth covering for robust handling and integration requirements.
Length, joint and fixing sequence
Sections can be cut to length, joined and fixed using methods familiar from comparable insulation systems. Joint layout and fixing details should be agreed for the project.
Confirm nominal diameter, straight length, elbow or special curved segment.
Cut sections to the reviewed length and locate joints around the full pipe route.
Define fixation, covering and external protection for the complete service environment.
Typical applications
Siltherm Pipe serves oil and gas process lines, steam systems and renewable-energy equipment. It can also form part of a defined jet-fire protection assembly.
Preformed backup insulation for process and steam piping in oil and gas, power-generation and energy equipment, with related tank geometry reviewed as part of the application.
Discuss an oil and gas applicationPreformed insulation for domestic PEFC stack interfaces and piping in parabolic-trough or central-receiver solar systems.
Discuss an energy routePreformed Pipe sections can be incorporated into jet-fire protection assemblies; any performance claim must refer to the complete tested configuration.
